Is The Advice That You Consume Pure?
A lot of advice is just a projection. That’s why you should be careful.
Many people just project their own past experiences. (Usually the negative ones, because they stick.)
"Once bitten, twice shy."
With that, the advice you get isn’t pure but contaminated.
The best approach here:
Check where that advice is coming from. Who or what has shaped it?
Once you know, you either discount or ignore it.
In the best-case scenario, it’s rooted in an experience that was either positive or healthily integrated if it was negative.
I also try to apply this mental model when I consume content.
