Email Is Not My #1 Outreach Channel Anymore
Email was my way to dominate outreach – not anymore.
2024 has changed a lot.
AI tools for mass campaigns.
Spam filters by Google/Yahoo.
For years, I had a big mouth on cold emailing.
Rightfully so: I had the best #’s in all companies.
Managers asked me to do give trainings, 60%+
of my opportunities and deals came that way.
This year, I’m seeing fewer results – while my
ability to write cold emails has only gotten better.
Where do many of my opps (for clients) come from
these days? Mostly network + LinkedIn content.
✅ Network, because I’ve maintained relationships
with a long-game mindset and get intros via WhatsApp.
✅ LinkedIn content because it warms people up to
who I am, how I think, and what style they can expect.
What does it mean for you if you're in similar shoes?
1. Source your existing network for intros
↳ LinkedIn makes it easier than ever before
2. Keep building a network even with lost opps
↳ Won’t help you today? No, but in 1,5,10 years
3. Put yourself out there. “Everyone is saying this?”
↳ There’s a reason. “The 2nd best time to plant a tree?”
… is now.
P.S. Should you stop improving your email game – and
not get my free ebook on effective Email Design?
No, because the CRAFT of writing, incl. the logic & mindset
behind it, is more crucial and applicable than ever before.
You still have to write referrals, follow-ups, business cases
and POSTS. That takes the mindset of an Email Designer.
