Millions Closed, Still This Mistake

Don’t use the Insta story views logic from dating on LinkedIn.

It took me until 2022, that I finally turned on the feature for

people to see that I had visited their profile. Until that point…

I thought that it made me seem needy and desperate.

Sounds like high school? That’s because it is. In 2007, 9th

grade for me, we started using a German Facebook clone.

“schuelerVZ” also let you turn profile visits on/off. The rule for

your crush: calculate strategically, don’t “care too much.”

What hasn’t really changed until today (Insta story views) is

what I carried into my selling all the way up to 2022, 8 yrs in.

I didn’t realize how much (money) I was leaving on the table:

→ It’s another great way to follow up and stay top-of-mind

→ It got me countless new connections I’d stumbled upon

→ It brought new convos with existing connections

And most importantly: To close a deal, you must show care.

The lead buyer of my first $1M-deal confirmed that with me:

"We could tell by your actions how much you wanted this."

Long story short: Don’t play hard to get on LinkedIn.

Are you?

P.S. In 2008, I once forgot to turn it off. A girl from three grades

above DM’ed me: “Wow, you visit me a lot.” Root cause found.
