This annoys me!
In hindsight, every win seems like the seller had a perfect plan.
When in reality, it was also due to luck and circumstance.
Skill, persistence, and tenacity matter.
But if you look closer, there are always factors involved beyond human skill (sadly, this applies to losing deals too).
I've inherited deals that were nearly closed by people who got fired
Though COVID crushed half my pipeline in 2020, it unexpectedly boosted another vertical I'd invested in, allowing me to close my first seven-figure deals.
These achievements shouldn't be downplayed, but when sharing these stories, we should tell the full picture.
