When To Start Using Using A CRM?

(I’m setting one up now) 👇

I get asked this question a lot, and it makes sense.

As a startup, you want to avoid wasting time on things that don't drive immediate value — false gratification is a huge problem!

For me, the right time to switch from an Excel spreadsheet to a CRM is when you start to feel like things are slipping through the cracks:

1️⃣ Losing Track of Conversations

When you find it difficult to keep up with ongoing conversations that could turn into opportunities, it's time to consider a CRM.

2️⃣ Inefficient Manual Tasks

If you're spending too much time on tasks that could be automated, like updating LinkedIn profiles or other data entry, a CRM can streamline these processes.

3️⃣ Lack of Integration

When you realize that you're missing out on the benefits of integrating various functions, like bulk campaigns, a CRM can bring all these tools together.

4️⃣ Transparency on Live Data

A CRM provides real-time access to the most up-to-date information on any deal or lead. (Also essential for continuity if someone leaves the company or, God forbid, something tragic happens.)

Which CRM are you (already) using and why?

(I started playing with Attio based on Alex Vacca 🧠🛠️'s recommendation. The only feature I find missing is the ability to sync LinkedIn DMs.)
